Encode location
Encode is located in the eastern part of Reykjavik, 10-20 minutes by car from central Reykjavik.

Arriving in Iceland
Most international flights arrive at the Leifur Eiriksson Air Terminal in Keflavik. The distance between Keflavik Airport and Reykjavik is 50 km and the estimated driving time between the airport and city is approximately 45 minutes.

Flybus is the airport shuttle that runs between Keflavik Airport and the BSÍ Bus Terminal in the city of Reykjavik. Free onwards transfers are available to all major hotels and guesthouses. The shuttle schedule is coordinated with airline flight schedules.

Taxis are available outside the airport terminal. All taxis have official mileage meters, and taxi fares are charged at standard rates. All taxis accept credit cards.

Language
The national language is Icelandic. English is widely spoken and understood, many Icelanders also speak other languages (e.g. Scandinavian languages, German, French).

Currency
The Icelandic monetary unit is the Icelandic “króna” (ISK).

Time
Iceland is on the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) throughout the year, and does not go on daylight saving time.

Weather
Thanks to the Gulf Stream, Iceland enjoys a cool temperate ocean climate: cool in summer (average around 12°C) and fairly mild in winter (average around 0°C). However, the weather is very changeable and visitors should prepare for the unexpected.
